What I Do as a Paralegal at ClearTrust Claims

At Clear Trust Claims, I serve as a paralegal focused on helping individuals and families navigate the complex process of filing asbestos trust claims. My work is driven by a passion for justice, a commitment to detail, and a deep respect for the people we serve—many of whom are veterans, tradespeople, or the families of those impacted by occupational asbestos exposure.

Supporting Victims of Asbestos Exposure

Many of the clients I work with have been diagnosed with serious illnesses such as mesothelioma, lung cancer, or asbestosis—diseases caused by asbestos exposure that often occurred decades ago on job sites, in shipyards, or through building materials. These individuals are eligible for compensation through numerous asbestos bankruptcy trusts, and my job is to help them access those funds with clarity, care, and efficiency.

My Role as a Paralegal

As a paralegal with a Bachelor of Science degree in Paralegal Studies, I manage a wide range of responsibilities, including:

       Case Intake and Analysis
I gather medical documentation, employment and military service records, affidavits, and other essential records to build a strong case profile for each client.

       Exposure Research and Trust Matching
I investigate our clients’ work history to determine which asbestos-containing products they may have been exposed to, and which trusts may be applicable. This often involves reviewing ship logs, plant records, and job descriptions from decades past.

       Claim Preparation and Filing
I prepare and submit claims to various asbestos trusts, ensuring all documentation meets each trust’s unique criteria. Accuracy and completeness are critical to avoid delays or denials.

       Responding to Deficiencies and Appeals
When claims are challenged, I coordinate with attorneys and clients to respond to deficiencies, submit supplemental evidence, or pursue appeals where appropriate.

       Client Support and Communication
I guide clients through every step of the process with transparency and empathy. Many are navigating not only legal challenges but also medical or emotional burdens, and I consider it an honor to support them during this time.

Why This Work Matters

My work at Clear Trust Claims is more than a legal process; it’s a way of helping people find relief, recognition, and justice. Each claim represents a life impacted by asbestos exposure, and I approach every case with the care and respect it deserves. Whether it’s securing compensation for a retired shipyard worker or helping a widow receive support for her family, I am proud to stand beside our clients in their pursuit of accountability and closure.
